Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 353,000 added to the economy last month.
U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su responded to the January 2024 Employment Situation report, noting the American economy added 353,000 jobs last month. She also highlighted the low unemployment rate of 3.7 percent.
The acting secretary stated, “This strong jobs report also shows balanced, broad-based growth across sectors, with gains in retail, health care and professional and business services like engineering and management jobs. Employment in manufacturing also rose by 23,000 in January.“
“Even with these strong gains in our economy, we have more room to grow by bringing more people into the labor force. That’s why we will continue to pursue… creating good jobs with pathways to the middle class and fighting for policies that support childcare workers and working families,” said Acting Secretary Su.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Secretary Su to be directed by the Lord as she manages the Department of Labor.
- For discernment for Commissioner Erika McEntarfer as she heads the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
